No surname on Indian passport

Hi everyone, I have recently acquired British citizenship but don't yet have the naturalization certificate. I'm a bit concerned because my Indian passport doesn't have a surname listed at all.

Once I have the naturalization certificate and apply for British passport,

- would I be able to request having my name rearranged without a deed poll?
- can I submit an application for a surrender certificate without a British passport?
