Any minimum duration of visa validity required for travel?

Hi All,

Tier1 General visa expires on Nov 2012.
Planning to travel to India on early September for two weeks and return to UK by end of September.
Then planning to apply for extension on October from within UK.

Just wondering: is there any rule/convention regarding the duration of the validity of the visa for travelling, especially from India to UK.

For example:- is there any rule/convention like the visa must be valid for at least 6months/1month/1 week/etc... in order to travel, especially from India to UK?

Please could you share your thoughts?

There is no such rule, so long as you enter while you have valid leave to remain you will be fine. If you only have a few days remaining on your visa, then they may query this at Immigration control on arrival in the UK, but you can always explain. I'm not aware of the immigration procedures in India, but would assume that a similar query may arise at the port of departure as well.
