Applying sister for visitor visa

Hi friends,

I want to apply my sister on visitor visa. Her passport is expiring in October 2013. She has applied for new passport. I have made the declaration of sponsorship with details of her current passport. My question is can she apply on her current passport and then travel on new passport? Or should she wait for her new passport to arrive and then apply?

Passports should be valid for six months no matter what visa category you are applying for, so once she has the new passport than you should apply

How old your sister is and what is her situation? is she working/house wife? what supporting documents is she providing?
