Applying visit visa for parents with Problems

Post by saanju9 » Sat Oct 26, 2013 8:23 pm

Hi

I am trying to apply a visit visa for my mother-in-law from India(Hyderabad)

Problems
1. My mother-in-law's name was spelt wrongly in my wife's passport. - First of all Do we need to produce the back page of the passport (the sponsors passport)
2. my mother-in-law doesn't have a bank account. My father-in-law has one but rarely used

What can I do with these problems..
can anyone also give me a list of documents we will have to produce with the application

Thanks a lot

Hi' Saanju

i cant give you solution for both the issues as there are gurus here who have better knowledge than me,

you should provide both sides of the passport copies,
as far as the name is concerned i had a kind of issue like this, we have to get an affidavit prepared on a stamp paper that your mother-in-law actual name is so and so and get it signed and stamped by a lawyer. you can submit that affidavit with that application.

as far as finance issues are considered the gurus here need to help you.

Here is the complete list of documents submitted by me for my In-laws family visit visa including visa application, you can remove the maternity letters depending on your case
1. sponsorship letter *
2. application form
3.visa copy (both)
4. 3 months bank statements
5. 3 months payslips
6. employment letter
7. tenancy agreement *
8. council tax letter *
9. properties affidavit
10. passport copies
11. covering letter
12. financial and bank statements of applicants
13. flight tickets or itinerary
14.GP letter for maternity
15. maternity exception card copy
16. property documents of applicants to prove they return back.
17.photos of applicants
16. passports
17. photos
18. address proof of applicants if any
19. application copy
20 .appointment copy
21. passport copies of applicants

Thanks Lax

2 things I want to ask you

1. Did you get this affidavit done in your home country when your spouse is here in UK
or Does your spouse need to be present when this affidavit is getting done (so you have done it in UK)

2. Do you need to submit any proofs to the lawyer that they are indeed mother and daughter (your spouse) to get this affidavit done

i got it done in Home country, as it is your mother in law who needs to get it done she needs to get it done there, i guess you need not submit any other proofs if there is any like ration card or voter card that might be an helpful.

So was your mother-in-law's name mispelt in your mother-in-law's passport???

my case is my mother-in-law's name is mispelt in my wife's passport
and again its just not simply a spelling mistake but the entire name is different

my case was completely different the name in my certificate and passport were different so i had to prepare a affidavit that my actual name is so and so but it was a mistake in the certificate. the same way she needs to get it done saying what her actual name is and how it was miss spelt in your wife's passport.

Yeah but the problem its my wife's passport in which it is mispelt. So my wife has to get it notarised. however, this is simply not a spelling mistake.
It is completely a name different I should say.

So, I had several people advised that notarising your wife version is bit risky

So, I decided to notarise my mother-in-laws name saying that this wrong name is her Other Name. Which is actually her other name although there are no official record of it. I am just going to notarise it and make it official.

Hi Tanvir

Providing originals is the best one but if they are photocopies i guess it would be better to be attested(stamped) by the bank and the employer. its not a regulation but for our safety we do this.

Well Tanvir

They do not say they need "originals" anywhere. And moreover I know someone have sent fax messages and those fax messaged papers have been submitted ... So don't worry to send originals if everything else is alright
