Unmarried Partner -apply it long before current visa expire?

Post by LouisTsui » Tue Sep 04, 2007 12:42 pm

Hi all,

I am applying an ILR. Assuming that I got my ILR in near future, then I will apply an Unmarried partner visa for my girlfriend, as we will be living together more than 2 years fairly soon. My girlfriend is currently on a student visa and it is not going to be expired any time soon. My question is do we have to wait until my girlfriend's visa nearly expire (say 1 or 2 months) in order to submit an unmarried partner visa, or we can do it as soon as we qualify the "2 years" rule?

Many Thanks in advance

Louis
