refund from Solicitor

Hi Guys,

Random question here;

Does anyone know of any effective way of obtaining refund back from a solicitor?
Paid a large sum of money to a solicitor. As she asked for it as a sign of commitment. For months, nothing was done. Demanded a refund, since I don't need her service anymore.

She has promised to pay, but hasn't for months now.

I have initiated a court judgement and I've been advised by another solicitor to inform the SRA. Even though it saddens me to do so, as she probably could lose her license as a result. Don't really know how the SRA operates.

Is there any safer way to get my money back? Also, will these methods be sufficient?
