Visa for Family members

Post by awaitingILR » Fri Apr 14, 2017 4:08 pm

Hi there,

Can experts please help with this query. I have been waiting for my ILR for 10 months now and my wife wants to visit her parents. Is it possible to invite her parents, brother, cousin and my mother while we are still waiting for our ILR?

They want to come on different dates anyways and we rent a 3 bedroom house.

Should we apply for them separately, I mean separately for my mother and then for her parents, brother and cousin or we can apply together for all of them?

Your response on this would be highly appreciated.

Many Thanks

I'm not sure if the ECO will be convinced if you apply for all of them at the same time- he may think the house will be overcrowded ( assuming you are 3 and inviting another 5 ). Remember it also depends how long you intend to host them etc

However I would suggest you to wait for seniors advise.

Also if you need to invite them all together, you need to show strong financial bank statements from your side just in case

What is your current visa status? if your existing leave has expired and you are waiting for your ILR- again this is something you need to check before you invite them

Good Luck

Hope you are aware that you need one application per person and documentation on each person's home country ties should be adequate.
In your application you will need to mention the intended travel in and out dates per applicant. So, this should hopefully make it clear to ECO that not all of them will be visiting at the same time.
You may explain the same on your covering letter if required as well.

Your response on this would be highly appreciated.

Many Thanks
Any suggestions I make in the forum are out my personal experience and should not be taken as a legal/professional advise.

To get visit visa is very rare and difficult these days. u need to sort out your immigration matter first. U can't sponsor a whole family like that. They will refuse each one on them.

First invite your In laws. Forget visa for brother and cousin if they r over 18 and working age. Read this forum for visit visa application success. Only 2 got out of 10.

Be realistic. U need to show proof of social and economic ties of the person who is applying for visit in there home country. Your documents will carry very small weight as compare to the person who is visiting.

The brothers are in college, we have got letters from their colleges.
Also we will show brothers insurance papers, RDs etc
and enough of other proofs for parents to return back to india.

They will travel in pair of two on different dates, now i am worried if the embassy will get convinced?
My wife is really stressed due to the long wait for ilr, it will be nice for her to see her family.

I also want to apply my mothers visit visa as well along with them , it will be 5 of them on different dates.

i am planning to explain this nicely on the covering letter, but a bit worried that in case they want to refuse the brothers they will not refuse the parents as well!

Thanks!

That's your choice if u still want to apply for everyone after reading our honest advise. Previously people abused the visit visa route in that extent now ECO's will not believe in any of your story no matter how much nicely u describe it.

Keep in mind after getting first refusal it will be more harder to convince them again. So take each step at a time.

First sort your ILR. They won't give anyone visa if the sponsor immigration status is not confirmed.
