British citizen abandoning Indian citizen - married in India under Hindu law

Post by JusticeDenied » Fri Nov 09, 2018 2:25 pm

Hello,
Early this year my brother (Indian citizen) got married to a British citizen in India per Hindu marriage law. they lived for few months in India and later moved to the UK and lived here for few months. They started falling apart and my brother had to move back as he was on travellers visa. Now the girl wants to break up with him sighting his mental health. Is there anyway for the girl to divorce or void (annulment) the marriage without my brother's knowledge in the UK? I hope not as both parties need to agree. I'm just wondering if there are ways per UK judiciary for her to get out of this relationship without going through the due process in India?
Thanks.
