BRP is getting expired, HELP ME PLEASE!!

Post by Nadzsc » Thu Apr 04, 2019 1:55 pm

I don’t know if this is the right place to get some info but anyway. My BPR card is getting expired on 18-06-2019 , TYPE OF PERMIT - leave to enter. But my visa is expired on 13-01-2020.

Why BRP card is expired before my visa though? And what should I do next? I can’t find any form application to renew BRP card.

Here is my visa details

Number of entries - MULT
Type - SETTLEMENT TO JOIN PARENT(S)
Obsrv - Settlement: Indefinite leave to remain

The thing is my visa is valid for 5 years, I applied when i was 15 and I’ll be over 18 when it’s expired, which made me not a child anymore so I can’t extend my settlement visa.

My mom is on the type of visa that will not get expired but she is not citizen of England yet. But she can stay in England as long as she wants.

Here is my questions
1.what should I do with BRP card?
2.on visa details, what is obsrv - settlement indefinite leave to remain means? Does it mean I got indefinite leave to remain visa?
3.what type of visa should I apply after this one get expired?

Or if you guys have any information please do tell me , very please.

You already hold permanent residence.

You simply renew the BRP card. The card expires, not the status of pr.

Why hasn't your mum applied for citizenship for her and you??

When do you turn 18??

Ohhhhh. My mom told me once that even though she is British citizen (applied and do some tests) I still have do the same as she does. I don’t know to be honest why didn’t she. I turned 18 last year.

How can I renew BRP? I can’t find any form that relates to my query. If I’ve already hold permanent residence then what about my visa?

Thank you so much for your reply.

Your mom could have applied for citizenship for both of you before you turned 18 and you would NOT have had to do the tests. Now that you are 18, you will have to do them and have 5 years residence.

Form in link below to renew your BRP card.

Sorry but I’m a bit confused. So now am I a permanent resident?

And in that form it has question that asking why you are applying for and I’m not sure whether “Biometric permit expired after receiving indefinite leave to remain” ( which you told me I already hold permanent residence but I have to receive any documents only my visa) or “Replace immigration status document with biometric Residence Permit”. Which one should I tick the box?

You always been a permanent resident.
You must apply online to replace the BRP: https://visas-immigration.service.gov.u ... nt-service

One last question what about my visa? Right now I’m on settlement join parents. Or I have to live for 5 years and apply for permanent residence card? Then I don’t need visa?
Sorry for asking such stupid questions.

If your card stated Indefinite Leave to Remain, you are already a PERMANENT RESIDENCE.
