BRP question

Post by SUJN410 » Tue Apr 09, 2019 8:49 am

Hi
Can somebody explain me please.
I am so confused about my BRP. It reads:

Type of permit: SETTLEMENT

Remarks : NO TIME LIMIT

Issued on : 03 / Apr / 2019

Valid until : 31/Dec/2024

P.s. I have “Indefinite leave to enter “ stamp on my old/expired passport. My question is
1) what happens when my BRP expires and what is the renew process?
2) why is that i have only 5 years valid on brp when indefinite leave visa should never expire

1. You renew the card, like a drivers licence. Costs about £56. Only relevant if you do not apply for British citizenship.

2. December 2024 is the date the EU has set for all biometric documebts to be updated with new security and enhanced features. The card expires not the status.
