Visit Visa confusion

Post by MatBuchanan » Tue May 14, 2019 3:58 pm

I wonder if anyone could offer me some advise or your opinion on my mother sponsoring my wife to come to the UK from the Philippines on a visit visa. We have been married for 4 years and my mum would really like to meet her. We thought it was better that my mum was the sponsor, as she and my father are in a better position than me ( I live in the same town as them), since they own their own home and would have no problem in showing adequate bank statements to show they could support her on her stay for 12 days. My confusion is about where I come into it as her husband. I'm not the sponsor, but was wondering what you think I would need to provide for the application? Even though I'm not the sponsor, would I need to provide my passport copy and proof of relationship such as wedding photos, previous flight tickets and perhaps a cover letter from myself? Thanks.

More importantly, what evidence is your wife planning on submitting to prove her ties to her home country (social, family, employment, financial, property) to convince and ECO that she is a genuine visitor and will leave the UK?/

She will have to declare she is married and provide the details the form asks for. To be honest, a visitor visa for a non EU spouse whose British partner is in the UK etc, stand a slim chance of approval.
