Standard visit to UK from India

Hi,

My close relative will be visiting us from India on standard visit visa.
My query: is it mandatory to book the return ticket (back to India) to pass the immigration entry while entering the UK or Is it ok if they book the return ticket later.

Most important than having the return ticket will be their social ties with the india because caseworker need surety that they will leave after visiting UK. Social ties can be savings/property/business/pension/relative etc in India.

Just to clarity that they have got the visa. We didn't submitted any flight tickets with visa application. My question is do they need the return flight ticket when come to UK or single flight ticket is fine & we can buy the return ticket later. Thanks

Yes.

If they are asked on entry to produce a return date and ticket and they don't have one, the IO is likely to hold them for interview as they could doubt their intention to leave the UK.

Better to have return tickets as they are likely to be asked by the Immigration Officer at UK border control for proof of their intended date of return to the home country.
