UK Removal Process

Post by maloku » Fri Aug 16, 2019 5:53 pm

Hi all,

Was hoping to get some advice on the removal process the UK follows. The situation is as follows.

A relative of mine was caught entering The Republic of Ireland illegally. When he was caught, he started the process of claiming asylum. He was sent to an asylum centre in Ireland, but he left the centre within hours.

On the same day he made his way to Northern Ireland where he was caught by the UK immigration officers trying to enter mainland UK. He has been sent to an Immigration Removal centre in the UK.

In Ireland he has not yet given his reasons for claiming asylum.

With the above in mind, is the UK likely send him back to Ireland for him to continue with his asylum claim there or will UK send his back to his country of origin?

He flew to Ireland from another EU country, using a fake EU ID.

When UK Immigration officers stopped him in UK he showed them his original ID from country of origin.

His intention was to claim asylum in UK.

UK and Ireland shares immigration information, therefore, more likely he will be detained and then deported back to his country of origin.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Does this mean that the UK will interview him on behalf of the Irish, where he already has an asylum claim?

Why would they deport him and not send back to Ireland?

Why UK immigration authorities need to send him to Ireland where he has used false identity and now showing original identity.

He entered Ireland using false documentation, but the asylum claim in Ireland was made using his original documentation. In UK when he was caught, he had original documentation.

Anyway, thanks for your time. I guess we'll have to wait and see how this pans out.
