Marriage Visitor Visa - From Philippines

Hello,

I am a Filipino, and I am marrying my Boyfriend from UK. I am about to get a Marriage Visit Visa since we decided to get married in UK.

I'm just confused and a bit worried because we haven't meet yet and the proof of relationship that we have are our more than 2 years mails and messages and pictures on Skype calls and Facebook messenger.

would the immigration or the embassy get me a chance to get the visa?

Unlikely you would get a marriage visitor visa as you have not met in person.

You also cannot stay or change to any other visa if you are in the UK on a marriage visitor visa. You have to leave the UK.

Hi! This is an opinion from someone who has gone through a visa process in the UK, but to me the solely evidence of emails and messages when you haven’t met in person yet, doesn’t seem substantial to issue a marriage visit visa. Home Office is quite strict when it comes to family visas, and getting a visa will depend on the case worker. If he suspects it’s a scam marriage since you haven’t met, you might face a refusal (I’m not saying it is, but in case the case worker will think that).

Have you considered to increase your chances and apply for a visitor visa first? To get to know your partner, get some photos for subsequent visa applications and then once back in your home country, applying for another visa instead?

Straightfoward process can be if your boyfriend visit you in philpine and marry there to apply spouse visa instead marriage visit visa for which you are not eligible and also for visitor visa where you might not be to convince to eco that you will return backhome because of having British boyfriend intending to marry you.
