Visa options for mother and brother

Post by Aaunited » Sun Nov 10, 2019 10:14 am

I have a similar case. My mum and brother are fro Afghanistan but living together in india for last 4 to 5 years. There visa cant be renewed anymore since my brothers degree and internship will be finished in around December. Now the question is due to the dangerous situations in Afghanistan and their fear for life they can't go back to Afghanistan. What options do I have to help them. I v been supporting them all along. I am naturalised british citizen married here in UK for last 18 years.have 4 kids and wife. No savings but fulltime job. My brother is now a qualified Radiologist from indian university. I am lost any help and advise are much appreciated. Thanks

Visa options for mother and brother

Please don't tag onto topics that are not the same as your circumstances.

You cannot sponsor them to live in the UK if that is what you are asking.

Your brother might be able to get a tier 2 sponsored visa but that won't help your mother. There isn't really a visa route for her.

It's not an easy or a straightforward path, but as he is in a medical field, he can try his luck with a Tier 2. I am not only thinking about the UK, but there are options in various Western countries where medical qualifications are in shortage and can often offer some immigration options.

For your mother, there is no option really. You can still supporter where she is or try to get her to some safe place in Afghanistan. Having lived her entire life there, it should be possible to find an option.
