Traveling with BRP in maiden name but passport in married name

Hi everyone,

I need to travel in two weeks time. I currently have a spouse visa with the BRP in my maiden name expiring in 2021. My passport is now in my married name. I have applied online and did biometrics to change my name in my BRP from maiden to married name last September and I did it within the 3 months time frame required. But until now I have not received my BRP with married name. It's been 12 weeks.

- Can I still travel abroad by showing my old passport with maiden name + marriage certificate + BRP with maiden name + new passport with married name + proof that I did my application within 3 weeks of changing my name in my passport?
- Will traveling abroad invalidate my change of name BRP application?
- What was your experience with the UK border? Did you have problems with airline check in?

I've complained about the delay in the HO's contact centre but all they can say is they've already elevated it and that they can only elevate once a month which is ridiculous. Wanted to seek help from our MP but there's no sitting MP now due to the upcoming elections, it's so frustrating!

I bought the airline ticket using my married name.

Stressed out as need to travel in two weeks, have bought tickets and booked hotels already. Didn't realise that waiting for the new BRP will take ages...

It will be very risky because your BRP more likely should have been voided now. Better to wait & change your plans.
