Something is really bothering me....

Post by Sadbee54 » Thu Jun 18, 2020 6:44 pm

Ok here goes

I applied for ILR in August 2008 in september 2008 I was stopped for driving without insurance I was told I would be sent a letter informing me what to do next.

I was granted ILR in October 2008 and carried on with life until normal.

After almost 6 months maybe even more later in 2009 I received a letter about said offence and I pleaded guilty and was issued a fine from the court which I paid.

It didn't occur to me whilst I was waiting for the outcome of the ILR application that maybe I should have informed the home office that I was stopped and pending some sort of fine ....I am just chalking it down to plain naivety and a bit of ignorance but it has always bothered me since.

What do people think is this a likely to get my ILR revoked?

Driving without insurance is NOT a recordable offence. It does not affect the grant of ILR. I also assume the criminality requirement was way different in 2008. HO has access to court/police records and if it was an issue, your ILR application would have been put on hold rather being granted. Relax and go live your life mate
