Hello fella,

This form has always been so useful for everyone,
It has been recommended to me by a friend. I would be really grateful, if some one could answer these questions for me.

I am a political asylum seeker in Uk, have been on that status for last 5 years, I’m not allowed to visit my home land under the current BRP which I hold as an asylum seeker. Now my questions are.

1) once I get my indefinite will I be under the same restrictions as I am now of not being able to go back home, or such restrictions end once I am an indefinite resident.

2) I have a property on mortgage in Uk from before I seeked asylum, although all taxes are paid, will this mortgage create any problem of how I got it, will they question it during my ILR application.

3) I am not on any govt funding, I take care of my expenses my self, yet I had difficulty renting a property due to my status, as a result the property which I live in is rented by a family member, so I don’t have any proof of address like council tax. So my question is would bank statements and nhs proof would be sufficient as a proof of address for ILR application.

Thank you.

1. Although suppositiously you would be free from such restriction but still ILR can be revocable where if authorities will find that falsehood was used to secure the asylum claim.

2. That is not relevant to ILR application.

3. Yes. Bank statements and any correspondence from NHS are usually an acceptable source.
