Visitor Visa

Post by MC kaiser » Tue Jan 26, 2021 9:04 pm

Hi all,

My Wife is pregnant and is due in a few month's. We already have a 19month old child. My Wife came into UK on a Spousal Visa.

We would like her Mother to visit us for a few months in time for the delivery. My Mother in law is a retired teacher and she has her own business back in Nigeria.

I am a British Citizen. Born in the UK. I work full-time and I meet the financial requirements and can produce evidence of tenancy agreement, bank statements, Utility bills etc.

Any advice if I should be the sponsor or if my Mother in law should be?

Also, what are the required documents to ensure the success of the application and for my Mother in law to be granted a visitor Visa?

Also see this similar thread. Sponsoring a mother/mother-in-law for the purpose of helping out with a newborn baby may be seen as unpaid employment/in a negative light.
I am not a lawyer or immigration advisor. My statements/comments do not constitute legal advice. E&OE. Please do not PM me for advice.

Thank you for this link. Very useful and something to think about when completing the application.

However, I am a contractor (I started a new contract in December 2020) and my payslips are weekly rather than monthly...
How many payslips will I have to provide?
