Hi
Trying to confirm that I’m allowed to travel to the Republic of Ireland (as it’s part of the CTA) while my ILR application is pending? Everything I’ve read so far seems to say this is ok. I won’t be leaving ROI and will fly back to the UK 3 after weeks.
If I were to get stopped by immigration officials on returning to the UK, would showing them a print out of my ILR application suffice?
It’s been a while since I’ve flown back from ROI and I can’t remember if I even had to show my passport or biometric card on arrival. I will have both with me, even though the card would have expired!
The below is all I could find on CTA travel relating to return to UK.
Many thanks

“Most non-British and non-Irish citizens who travel to the UK via Ireland must show a valid passport on arrival if they are encountered and required to present a travel document by Border Force. The passport must be valid for the whole time the person is in the UK.”
