Peruvian Passport Name Change

Post by mark2019 » Thu Dec 09, 2021 1:45 pm

Hello Everybody, I hope you’re all well.

Me and my Peruvian wife we are renewing her passport.

We have spoken to the Peruvian Consulate and they have repeatedly told us that they cannot change my wife’s maiden name to our married name, they can only simply add it on the end of her maiden names.

I have tried to explain that is not how it’s done here in the Uk and that we need all our documents to match for her UK Visa.

They keep coming back saying that is the only way they can do it. All seems a little odd to us and wondered if anyone has had a similar situation?

Many Thanks

How could she use a name different from her current passport to apply for those documents?
Can she just change the name on those documents to the one Peruvian Consulate approves? It seems persuading the consulate is the most difficult task, so just follow their rule.

I mean she could do, but that seems more of a headache.

I think the best thing might be to leave everything in her maiden name until we get the British passport and then get it changed on that?
