ILR Application when sponsoring visit visa

Hi all

I m currently on a skilled worker visa and I have completed my 5 years in UK, hence planning on applying ILR in the next few days (have all documents handy).

However, I have sponsored my in-laws who are based in India to come visit UK. They have submitted their biometrics on the 21st Oct. Given that their visit visa is going to take some time, I m planning on going ahead with my ILR application.

My question here is would my ILR application impede in any way my in laws visit visa for which I m the sponsor of?

I do not understand why many people repeat this but there is no such thing as sponsorship under the UK immigration rules for a standard visit visa. You cannot sponsor anyone as a visitor to the UK. Your inlaws are expected to satisfy the visa officers on their own when applying for a visit visa. They can claim that they are going to visit family (you) and it would be great for them to have some proof of your residence. Your ILR application is therefore irrelevant

Well, When I meant sponsoring, what I meant was I m paying for their visit to the UK and I have had to submit my current immigration status (BRP and other financial and residence docs) in their application as a proof that I m inviting them to the UK.

If my ILR gets approved before their visa application was looked at by the case officer, wouldn't my Skilled Worker Visa that I used as my immigration status in their application be redundant when the case officer eventually reviews their application?
