Renew BRP card For ILR

Hi all,

My BRP card will expired on 25 Nov 2023. I would be grateful if anyone can help me with the below:

1) Can I travel outside UK on 10 Nov 2023 and return to UK on 23 Nov 2023 after submitting BRP renewal online?

2) If I cannot travel outside UK after submitting BRP renewal online, then I supposed I can submit it between 10 Nov 2023 and 23 Nov 2023 (during my time outside UK)? Does anyone know if this is ok?

3) Do you receive e-mail confirmation from Home Office instantly after submitting the application online?

4) Do you need to upload the supporting documents immediately after submitting the online application?

5) If uploading the documents online at home, I suppose there is no need to go for the UKVCAS appointment?

2. Irrelevant. You are not making an immigration application. You are simply renewing the card.

3. Sometimes yes, sometimes no.

4. You must upload before your ukcvas appointment.

5. Ukcvas is for your biometric enrollment (photo and fingerprints) and identity check!

Note that you will not get a brp valid for 10 years. Your new brp will be valid till 31st december 2024 as brps are being phased out and ukvi will move to a digital status system in 2025.

6) Is there a set time frame required to upload the supporting documents after submitting the renewal application online? For example, within 7 working days or 30 days.

7) I supposed I will receive e-mail from UKVCAS to ask me to book the appointment?

8) Is it mandatory that I have to book the appointment within a set time frame after receiving the booking invitation? For example, within 7 working days or 30 days.

9) I have my old passports back home, hence wanted to fly back to take them back. So, I am unsure if I should submit the application now OR wait till Nov. If I submit the online application today and receive the invitation next week from UKVCAS to book the appointment and the appointment has to be a short time frame, I won't be able to present the old passports in the UKVCAS appointment.

10) Do they check/verify all supporting documents in the UKVCAS appointment as well? Identity check is only checking passports, is that correct?

11) This might not be relevant. But, do you know if flight companies will refuse check-in if the BRP card is expiring within days? I intend to check-in on 23 Nov (BRP card expired on 25 Nov).
