BRP Card Expiring - do I need to extend it

Dear all,

My son has been granted as ILR many years ago, but his ILR BRP card is expiring mid November 2024. Do I need to extend the BRP for him before using the e-VISA by the end of this year. Or do I just need to register him onto e-Visa without any need to extend the BRP card. I tried to find information online but no success. Any help on my query is greatly appreciate.

As you won't be able to extend BRP, eVisa should be enough.

You can no longer apply for a new BRP.

If you received the invite to register him for an eVisa, just do that.

The BRP is still valid until the expiry date, it can be used to register for an eVisa before or by that date.

New BRPs will not be issued anymore.

Also the invite to register for an eVisa is no longer required, every BRP card holder can now register.
