Immigration Lawyer: Referals

Post by ualisher » Thu Apr 23, 2009 3:50 am

I am looking to apply for UK tier 1 visa as skilled worker. I have MS degree from US and have been making over GBP 20K. I am planning to apply from US.

I am looking for a reliable lawyer who will evaluate my application, draft the legal submissions, file the relevant forms, compile the appropriate evidence, monitor application, and assist with leave to remain or entry clearance.

Could anybody suggest a lawyer whom he/she used? Or mentioned lawyers/websites that I should not use? How much would a lawyer charge?

If I do google search, there are a lot of websites, but I am not sure about their quality/reliability, which is why I am asking members of this board.

Thanks in advance. Looking forward hearing your ideas.

you can be best lawyer of your own case. Gathering documents and presenting them well should not be a problem for a HIGHLY SKILLED MIGRANT i suppose.

Preparing the application is not for everyone - some people lead busy lives and rightly prefer to let somebody else deal with the details for a fee. To do it successfully you need to be very detail oriented as the documentation requirements are quite strict. Hiring a professional is great but of course they can also ruin it up for you if they aren't detail oriented...

ualisher, I suggest you use the company that runs the forum, workpermit.com as a benchmark for costs and levels of professionalism. they may not be lawyers but lawyers aren't really necessary for the job. In my experience, the immigration lawyers I've encountered have been less on the ball than I was about Tier 1 but that's not to say I just encountered the wrong lawyers.

I'll send a private message with the details of a law firm who may help you (don't want to spam the forum).
