UKVI Account update after receiving British Passport

Greetings,

I have recently received my first British passport. I wasn’t entirely sure, but I thought I needed to update my UKVI account with my new GB passport (since I had returned my ILR-BRP card). However, it seems this cannot be done online as my nationality has changed.

The website redirected me to the following link:
https://update-your-details.homeoffice.gov.uk/name

It appears I need to send my passport to them again.

Could you please confirm if this step is mandatory, or since I already have the GB passport, is there nothing more I need to do with UKVI?

You are British!
British citizens don't have to register their passports anywhere (not even non-British pp).
You are dual national, but in the UK you are British.

Ukvi doesn't need to know that. Just so you know, I had EUSS before becoming British and my immigration status still shows online -no way to make them remove it, no matter how many times I asked.
