Conviction and Visa Application

Post by zahmed05 » Thu Nov 05, 2015 5:22 pm

Hi All,

One of my friend is trying to register a marriage in Ireland with a British citizen but unfortunately he didn't disclose that he was married in past and got divorced. The authorities have charged him for providing false information and passed the case to the court.

If he gets convicted in the court for providing wrong information, can he still apply the visa in Ireland?

What can be the maximum penalty for providing false information? Can he he imprisoned?

Thank you in advance.
