how to get nationality/citizenship

Post by omoowo » Fri Apr 21, 2017 6:10 pm

Hello all.

Please would like to be more informed in this . Is it possible for someone who is married to Irish Citizen over three year with Irish child but all family living outside the republic, living in the UK instead is it possible for the partner to apply for citizenship ? Or is there any other way to go about this . Thank you would appreciate it if my question is answered

According to the eligibility criteria you can't, see below.

http://inis.gov.ie/en/INIS/Pages/WP16000022#marriage

You must:

- Have been married to, or in a civil partnership with, an Irish citizen for 3 years
- Have been (and are now) living together in an ongoing marriage/civil partnership of not less than 3 years
- Be of full age (18 or over) when you apply

I guess that the fact that your Irish citizen spouse is currently not residing in Ireland might be an issue for the Citizenship Division.
