Brit: Would my criminal record in the UK have any bearing on non-EU spouse visa?

Hi,

I am British Citizen and plan to move with my non-EU spouse to Ireland, however, I wonder if during the Spouse Visa/Residence process I would be required to disclose my past conviction, when filling out the Embassy's questionnaire to support her application.

Btw, she is aware of my past transgression.
