Belgian visa - What do "Remarks:BNL2" mean?

Post by gregshukla » Wed Sep 03, 2008 1:53 pm

Hello,

I have got a schengen visa C type from Belgium embassy in London today.
The remarks column says "Remarks: BNL2".

Does anyone know what does this mean? Is there any restriction on my travel or can I travel to some other country such as Italy?

Any help is hugely appreciated!!

Thanks,
Greg.

I am not sure the about the source of the following document :!:, however,

through a bit of "googling" I found this:

http://www.ca.mdy.be/upload/downloads/20050921aus.pdf

It's in German (that's an official language of Belgium), and sais the following about BNL2 (my translation into English):
BNL2: Visa issued directly
Other remarks say "issued after consulting relevant authorities..." and similar things, thus I guess it refers to the conditions under which the visa was issued.

About the following I'm sure:

My wife had a "BNL2"-Multi-Schengen-Visa, and we traveled to Belgium and Portugal without any problems.
