Naturalisation Question

Post by johnpromise01 » Mon Oct 19, 2020 10:20 am

Asking for a friend. She's a Non-EU, she got stamp 4 and has spent 5 years. She's also married to an Irish citizen. That means she can apply for her citizenship as a spouse of an Irish citizen or on her own merit having spent 5 years with stamp 4.

Her question, which method is much better to apply with?

5 years spent with stamp 4 ?

Or

As spouse of an Irish citizen?

Different advantage or its same?

Doesn't really matter is she has full 5 years of legal residence without long absences and her background is good.

I assume she's aware of the three years of legal marriage requirement. If she applies having been married for less than three years, her application could be rejected.

Yes she's married with her Irish Spode even for over 4 years.
