Irish/Non-EU living in the Middle East - Birth in Ireland??

Post by mrs_a_hayes » Tue Sep 16, 2008 9:07 pm

Hi All,

I have a dilemma I am hoping someone can help me with.
I am a non-EU national married to an Irishman. We got married in Ireland, but have been living in the Middle East since. I have had various visiting visas to Ireland, but do not have one at the moment.

Now we are expecting our first child and I would like to come to Ireland to give birth. Mainly because my husband's family are all very close and have little kids. It's my first child and I find it a little scary to have it without any support from the family. I will return to the Middle East after the birth.

What I would like to find out is whether anyone here has been in a similar situation, what you decided to do and how you went about it in terms of visas and

Any thoughts on the topic are most welcome!
