Query regarding Ireland naturalisation

Post by Aafaq321 » Thu Nov 20, 2025 11:29 pm

Hi all,
I am currently on Stamp 4 and have been working in Ireland since February 2022. Due to some unavoidable reasons, I had to spend the following number of days outside Ireland:

Feb 2022 – Jan 2023: 106 days

Feb 2023 – Jan 2024: 196 days

Feb 2024 – Jan 2025: 164 days

Feb 2025 – Jan 2026: 76 days

I understand that, for naturalisation, one should not be outside Ireland for more than 70 days in the year prior to the application. I would like to know if these absences will negatively affect my application or if there is anything specific I should be aware of.

Do I simply need to wait a total of 542 days (106 + 196 + 164 + 76) before becoming eligible? I would really appreciate your guidance.
