Need help_Minor Application_Form CTZ (Form C) for Certificate of Nationality Ireland

Hello everyone,

I am seeking some help regarding Form CTZ (AKA form C) application for a minor child resident and born in Northern Ireland (UK) for a Non-EU parent lawfully and legally reisdent in NI before the birth of the child

It seems there is a pathway, yet haven't been able to contact anyone to give me guidance how to follow-up the documents submission. Even Facebook groups weren't helpful.

What are you asking? I can't find a question in your post.

Have you submitted the form already? Are you just asking how to follow the progress of your form? The answer is probably that you can't, you just have to wait for approval.

Thanks Inis for your comment. I submitted an application to the Department of Justice on the behalf of my minor for a Non-EU Parent.

Phone numbers, they don't want to answer anything while I have been given the phone number through the general office number, the online portal has an error which urged me to contact the website admin a whom doesn't reply to queries,so basically I can't file a query to enquire about the progress of the submitted documents, which amongst these documents is my passport which I need it back for travel reasons.
There is no working mean of communication.

My question which I am looking for an answer for is:

I am looking for anyone who might have been through the Certificate of Nationality from Irish Department of Justice (Form CTZ (form C)) who can guide me by hints or give me an estimate who long the process took.

Form CTZ8 (which I presume is what you refer to) is the old paper application form for naturalisation for minors. The version I can find online from Google dates from 2020, when they used to ask you to send in your passport. They stopped asking for passports to be sent in 2021, and changed to asking for a certified colour copy.

If you look at https://www.irishimmigration.ie/how-to- ... ation/#how it says the main method of applying is now via an online portal web page. Not via the old paper firm

This page also says in a section "if you cannot apply online"

THE CURRENT VERSIONS OF FORM 8, FORM 9, FORM 10 AND FORM 11 ARE ONLY AVAILABLE ON REQUEST VIA THE CUSTOMER SERVICE PORTAL.

OLDER VERSIONS OF FORM8, FORM 9, FORM 10 AND FORM 11 CANNOT BE ACCEPTED BY CITIZENSHIP DIVISION AND WILL BE RETURNED TO THE APPLICANT.

So unless you contacted them directly to ask for the current form, it sounds like you applied via an old form and your application will be returned back to you.

I think you need to contact them asking for your passport back. You probably also want to ask for your whole application back so you can submit an online application using the new system. There is no phone number to contact the naturalisation department, the only way now is via the customer service portal, see https://www.irishimmigration.ie/how-to- ... tizenship/ . Before the portal existed the main method of contact was via email at citizenshipinfo@justice.ie . That might still work?

I don't know how long naturalisation applications are now taking. I think they're about 12 months now, mine took around 3 years when I applied a few years ago.

Thanks again Inis for taking the time to reply to my query. The form I am referring to is known as Form C (or Form CTZ8) for passport applications on behalf of a minor child with Non-EU parents. Not part of naturalisation process which has been replaced by the online portal applications. I was reffered to the send the documents to the relevant department by a passport admin team member from the links below:

You could try registering for the citizenship portal and sending a message that way? If you already did that and it errors every time, then you cloud try registering again from another email address?
