Hang in there friend. It's a long process. I'd suggest putting it out of your mind until the end of the year. Good news is things seem to be moving now after so long stalled. Little over 2 years seems to be standard at the moment. I myself am at just over 2 years right now.
Unfortunately, every way to an Irish passport, be in naturalization in FBR, seems to be taking quite a while. Slow and steady wins the European passport.. I'm not to bothered by the wait. I check this forum a few times a week just to stay excited and its working pretty well - I can't believe its been over a year since I applied already. Our applications were received by FBR on the same date. Mine app was submitted on Sept 25, 2020, and email confirmation of documents received was Oct 7, 2020. Looks like we should be on the same timeline. Best of luck!!

yup, that's exactly it. Seems like a lifetime ago when I mailed my documents and FBR was closed for sooo long. Just great it's finally open and things seem to be moving. 21/02/2022 - got my FBR Certificate in the post today!!

Certified copies of original documents issued by GRO government websites are "original" documents. An adoption certificate from nidirect or gov.uk would prove link between your grandmother born on the island of Ireland & her adopted daughter who would be considered an Irish citizen. My mum is adopted.
My grandmother who adopted her was born in Belfast.
Mum does not have an Irish passport and is not on the FBR.
Mum is reluctant to give me originals or certified copies of documents.
I think I will have to gather my own copies.
I can't seem to find out what documents are needed when a parent is adopted. Obviously I need to send some documentation related to my mum to prove the link.
I refer to the list of documents for 'Adult applicant applying on the basis of an Irish born Grandparent'.
Below this the documents seem to relate only to the Irish citizen parent (which my mum isn't).
It also says unless stated, originals must be submitted. We only have certified copies of most documents.
Any help would be appreciated.

Seems an EU citizen (Irish passport holder) can travel with their UK spouse and the uk spouse isn’t bound by the 90/180 Brexit rule

Indeed, I'm Feb 14, 2020.
