New Citizenship Application Process

Post by guru_cool23 » Tue Aug 13, 2024 1:34 pm

Greetings Experts,

I’m new to this forum, and I need your help with my Citizenship application. I’m a Canadian on Stamp4 and have lived in Ireland for over 5 years. How to or where to start? Do I need to hire an immigration attorney to file my application, or can I do that on my own?

Can someone please explain the different steps/phases?

What I currently have…
- Residence proof
- Employment proof
- Revenue Records (Tax)
- Bank Statements? Do I need to maintain certain funds?
- Health and Dental Insurance.

Thanks a mil!

Go to https://inisonline.jahs.ie/user/login

Create a new user if you haven’t used it before. You would have already got an account if you live in Dublin.

Start a new citizenship application and fill in your details. This electronic form has been greatly simplified compared to the traditional paper form and you should be able to finish the form in 20-30 minutes by yourself.

It will ask you to put 3 Irish citizens’ names and phone numbers as your reference, so remember to check with your friends/colleagues.

At the end of it, it will ask you to upload various proof. Simply upload whatever it asks you to upload. There’s a guide here in case you want to see the list of required documents first: https://www.irishimmigration.ie/wp-cont ... l-2024.pdf

Your passport, birth certificate and a ‘passport certification form’ will need to be signed/certified by a solicitor or peace commissioner. Solicitors usually charge 50-100 euro for this service and peace commissioners usually provide the service for free (although slots may be limited).
