Hi, this is the code for care homes; residential or nursing. I used the same code when I applied for my visa.

It is an Occupation skilled to NQF level 4, and you will need to register with CQC as well as a provider and/or care manager.

I think its better to invest before you apply to show that you are a genuine entrepreneur and maybe have a better chance of success, based on my personal experience, I cannot advise you on this matter as its up to you to invest your money or not, I invested before applying and my application was still refused. please read the guidance as the rules have changed recently.

@Moh.moh, you have to be very careful with your plan as your main service in your care business will fall below NQF level 4.

Your own role as ''Residential, day and domiciliary care managers and proprietors (1242)'' might b at NQF level 4 but the main service in care home is below NQF level 4.

In the policy guidance, example was given by HO of The Director of a taxi company who is at NQF level 4 but taxi service is below NQF level 4.

I disagree with you, I am a registered care manager and the work I do is like any other management work, skilled to Level 4 and above.

@ Penny1012, u are right that you are a registered care manager which is at NQF level 4 or probably above, but the core service in a care home will most probably be carried out by support workers and care assistants and their services fall under NQF level 2.

The only probable option is if you registered yourself as a self-employed or a director of a care consultant company and then render care managerial or consultancy service to a registered care home as a contractor and not as an employee.

You cannot render care support/care assistant service and expect it to be class as NQF level 4 by HO.

The care manager manages the staff, clients, administration and finance of the business, in my case I am a manager and the director of the company as well. the link below says what the job role is all about. I know a care home owner who got a tier 1 entrepreneur visa recently, switching from tier 1 hsmp, he only had a care home for a year and is being investigated for tax fraud by hmrc.

Thanks for information but you said u know some one who switch from hsmp . If I am not wrong that hsmp people need to show 200k and don't need for graduate level 4 profession for apply for entrepreneur visa. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.
