SWITCH T4 student to 200k T1 entrepreneur

Post by anniethink » Mon May 26, 2014 10:49 am

Hi,

I am a Master student now, my Tier 4 student visa will expire on 30 Oct 2014. I genuinely want to run a business after graduation. I have two potions for Visa
a student dependent (My husband is a PhD student, his course will last for another 2 years.)
200k T1 Entrepreneur

I am interested in settlement. So I am thinking about apply T1 Entrepreneur. My questions are:
1. Is it better for me to switch from student to student dependent first before I apply Entrepreneur? It happened to my friend that the officer doesn't believe her marriage was genuine, so she cannot come to the UK with her husband. Since I have to go back to my home counties to apply Entrepreneur, if I fail it and apply student dependent afterwards, does my marriage look a little bit suspicious (I got married for not long)?

2. If I become a student dependent first, is it better to register a company and start doing my business before I apply T1 Entrepreneur? Because the business I want to run has nothing to do with my subject in school, I feel like if I can run it before Visa application, it will look more genuine. But my concern is the officer will think that I already have a business and I do not actually need an Entrepreneur Visa to enter the UK, so I can carry on my business under my student dependent VISA.

Anyone can give me some suggestions? Many thanks.
