switching from tier 2 ict short term to tier 1 entrepreneur

Hello,

I am currently on Tier 2 ICT Short term (Employer sponsored) visa. I am planning to start a firm here in UK and I have heard about Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) visa.

I have the following queries on applying for T1

1. Tier 2 ICT visa is only for 6 months. Can I apply after 3 months for Tier 1?
2. Will I have to go through the cool-off period mandatory for Tier 2 ICT visas?

Please help me in taking the right decision.
