Urgent Complicated Issue

Hello one of my friend applied for extension and it is in process with home office. He need to go back home urgently and what are the options now

Please advice if anyone knows something

He has to either wait for the extension or ask for the documents back and withdraw the application. If he leaves without a valid visa, he will not be allowed back in the UK and cannot apply for an extension from abroad as the extension must be done within the UK
