Graduations after April 2012 - advise?

Hi All

I started my masters course on Jan 2011, and my course is structured for me to complete by May 2012 (and graduate by July-August). Can you please advise if I will still be able to apply for Tier 4 (even though the application will be made after April 2012). If I am able to apply, can I do it without a sponsor who will have to pay me 20000 pounds or will I definitely need that.

do you mean can you apply for tier 1 PSW?

tier 4 is for students.

I also have a question and seek advise. My study finished and I left UK in sep 2010 but I still have a student visa until sep 11. Can I come back on same visa to apply for PSW without any stundentship letter from university as i am no longer their student?

You may be refused entry due to change of circumstances (321A(1)) or purpose (320(5)).

I also have a question. I am a MA in archaeologist student and my study started in Oct 2010 and will finish in Sep 2011. My Tier-4 student visa will expire on 30 Jan 2012.
I plan to do excavation fieldwork from mid-Sep to October 2011 in Spain and after that stay in Britain until my graduation day, which is 13 Jan 2012. Will I be refused entry after I come back from Spain?

Sarah, there should not be a problem if you get a letter from uni.

I got entry to attend my graduation even i left 9 months ago, now applying for PSW from UK . Applying for PSW from my country was not recommended by consultants as there have been many failures.

Could you tell me what kind of a letter do I need?

your uni can guide you, a letter confirming you as student and stating that you are going abroad for specific period.
