Assistance on child benefit and Backdating the claim

Dear Senior members and Gurus,

I need some assistance in regard to claiming child benefit for my two children.

Back ground.

Immigration Status
Myself - Indefinite Leave to Remain since November 2015.

Wife and two children - Tier 1 General Dependent - current leave expiring in March 2016.

Arrival and last entry in UK

My self - I have been leaving in UK since 2010.

Wife and two children - Their last entry to UK was in May 2016. My wife and elder son went to India in August 2015 when she was expecting the second child and family came back in May 2016.

I have been financially supporting them when they were in India and my second son was born in November 2015.

I am applying for child benefit. Am I allowed to back date the child benefit claim from December 2015 or May 2016. Kindly advise.

The child benefit claim form is asking about details of my wife but I think being on tier 1 general dependent visa, she is not allowed to get any benefits. Do I need to provide her details in the form. Kindly advise.

You can only backdate a Child Benefit claim for 3 months.

You have to give your spouse's details in the form.

Was your child born in November before or after you got ILR?

Many thanks for your prompt response and advise.

I will back date the claim from June 2016 and mentioned the details of my wife in the form.

My second child was born on 16/11/2015 ( a day before). I got ILR on 17/11/2015.

My first child was born on 10/10/2013 in India.
