Child care benefits on Tier 2 general visa

Hi,

I am on Tier 2 general visa and the BRP mentions - No Public Funds.
Does this mean I cannot claim child care benefits?
My daughter is currently 7.5 months and we were under impression of getting tax credits for daycare expenses.
Please advise.

The Tax Credit benefit has ended, but that is/was a Public Fund - and has been replaced by the benefit called Universal Credit, which is also a Public Fund.

Others will advise on whether you are allowed to have some free childcare hours given to you.

No. Not unless one of you is an EEA/ UK citizen or you are allowed access to public funds.
