applying for tier 2 general checklist

Post by funnybb » Sat Aug 04, 2012 3:08 pm

Hello all,
I am sending my tier 2 application to home office . it is under tier 2 general and I am currently under tier 1 post study.
I have sent the following documents as required after reading their policy guidance and their website but still wanted to double check
1. The application form
2. 2 passport photos
3. My old passports
4. Biometric resident permit
5. Police registration
6. Cos reference number and the sponsor has mentioned that they are happy to maintain and accommodate me for the first month if required
7. My degree certificate as a proof of obtaining degree in the UK, I did this for my post study as well, do they still need this ? will they return it?
Is that all I need to send or anything else I am missing?

One other question, I have been with my employeer for around 15 month and they have certified my maintance fund, is this only accepted for new employees or an existing employees, I am asking because in the guide it mentions as follow
“your A-rated (Premium), A-rated Small or Medium-sized Enterprise (SME+) or A-rated sponsor certifies on the Certificate of Sponsorship that they will maintain and accommodate you up to the end of your first month of employment in the UK if re-quired. Your sponsor may limit the amount of the undertaking but any limit must be at least £900”

Does the first month meaning new employees or just first month of your employment on tier 2 regardless of if you have worked there before

Thanks in advance
