Part time study on Tier 2 General

Post by sussexguy » Mon Sep 03, 2012 10:26 pm

Hi,
This might be slightly different question from the norm but here goes. Is it allowed to do a part time course while working full time on a Tier 2 (General) VISA?

I have tried to ask a university which suggested that people on work permit have done this in the past but not so sure about Tier 2. Any input would be appreciated.

Yes, you are allowed to study part time on Tier 2.

Read point 187. here -http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... idance.pdf

187. You can study if you wish. There is no limit on the number of hours you can study or
the type or level of course, provided this does not interfere with the job you have been
sponsored to do. You can study anywhere you choose and you do not have to study with a
sponsor registered under Tier 4 of the points-based system.
