Visa Refusal

MY family's visa has been refused and the reason was lack of funds. I had funds in my checking and savings account and I specified in the application that both had to be considered. Even my immigration agent that I took help of was satisfied.
I'm planning to appeal but would like to know the timeframe. Does anyone suggest re-applying with just one account showing the funds.

Quick help will be appreciated.
