Switch from Teir4G to T2G with dependants inside UK

Post by Nirmal100 » Thu Mar 26, 2015 5:45 pm

Hi I am desperate for advice.

I came to the UK under Teir4 general visa in 2010. Finished my Undergraduate in 2013 Oct.
I currently hold a T4 G visa until 2019 and doing my PhD.
I started my PhD in November 2013.

I received a Sponsorship from NHS " Grade A Sponsor".

I will be getting my sponsorship ref#soon most probably the 15 April.

they are happy to fund me but not my husband nor my son who are currently under T4G pbs dependant. both my husband and my son got T4G pbs dependant visa until 2019. **my husband been in the country since 2010 and my son was born here in 2012.

We haven't got savings of roughly £2000 at the moment but will be able to deposit the money by the 28th of March 2015.

My questions are below.
1.Can I apply first without any dependents while they remain in the uk until the money get mature for 90 days And dependants apply seperately?
2. Or will it be possible they leave the UK just before I apply and wait 90 days the funds to mature and apply from Sri-Lanka?

3. If they apply from my home country will it be possible for me to bring them back to the UK Without any hassle.

P.s. We have our own place to live and my husband (dependant ) already have two permanent Jobs and my son attend school. Will it affect their jobs if they leave the country?

Yes, you can apply first. Once you have a leave, your dependents can apply from within uk.
Although it is best to apply as soon as possible for your dependents, but it is no problem if they apply, say 3 months later, once you have had £1260 (for 2 dependents ) in account maintained for 3 months.

Also be mindful, then after 5 April, you will have to pay £200 per person per year extra for medical charge. So while calculating the money needed to apply their leave, you will have to pay for this charge as well (£1200 for the 2 dependents if you are applying for 3 years tier 2 visa).

Hi,
Please can you tell me whether a status letter which indicate course start date and letter date (more than 12 months) would be sufficient for change from t4 to t2 . I am a bit nervous to ask with uni to provide a letter as per ukba formats as they might be reluctant to switch from t4 to t2.. I aappreciate your or senior members experience on how to get a letter from uni as PhD is not completed.
