English requirements - US degree holder

Hi all,

I am currently preparing the documents for my Tier 2 General UK Visa application.
I am an Indonesian citizen and hold a PhD degree from a university in the US.
I wonder if any of you can help me with the following questions:

1. Do I need to get "Statement of Comparability" from UK NARIC to verify the level of qualification?
Or providing my original US PhD certificate is enough?

2. It is required that I submit the original academic degree/qualifications to demonstrate
my English skill. Will I get these original documents back after they made a decision for my visa?
