Tier 2 (Employer Sponsored)

Post by Sompal » Sun Feb 12, 2017 6:04 am

Dear All,

I have received my CoS and I supposed to apply for the VISA. However, I have the below doubts to clarify.
I have read the UKVI website and searched in goggle however I could not find any clear answer. Thus it would be helpful if anyone can guide me on these.

1. My start date in CoS is 8-May-2017. What is the probable start and end date of the 30 days period of STTV?

2. Is it mandatory for my dependent (spouse) to accompany me when I will be travelling to UK? or she can join me after couple of months?

3. For how many days, my Dependent (Spouse) can be absent from UK in a year?

Regards.

What is 'STTV'??
2. Is it mandatory for my dependent (spouse) to accompany me when I will be travelling to UK? or she can join me after couple of months?
No, she can apply at any time.
3. For how many days, my Dependent (Spouse) can be absent from UK in a year?

No more than 180 days absence per 12 month period.

I can't find the detail in regards the initial 30 day entry visa - I believe it can not be dated more than 14 days before your work start date? Someone else will correct me if that is wrong I hope.

She can join you later BUT my advice is to do it all in one hit, go to the UK together get your BRPs etc and she can travel back and forth freely thereafter.

She can come and go as she pleases, does not have to meet any minimum number of days stay in the UK BUT if you are looking to the look term and remaining in the U.K. then dependent on how much time she spends outside the UK will have an impact on her getting ILR.

Thank you Frontier Mole and CR001 for your response.

@CR001, STTV is Short Term Travel Vignette which is valid for 30 days and within this period I have to travel and collect my BRP.

@Frontier Mole,
Even I have checked the UKVI website and the only information that I could locate is that I can not travel more than 14 days prior to my start date mentioned in my CoS.
I am not sure, but does this mean I will have another 15 days after my start date (in CoS) to travel and get my BRP. This is based on the calculation as below:
30(validity of STTV) -14 (prior days)-1(start date) = 15 days.

Essentially the travel window / start date should fit into the 30 days. This also allows for collecting your BRP which is supposed to happen within 10 working days of arrival.

Don't get too hung up on the start date as long as your Sponsor agrees a date on or after that quoted on the COS all is good.

Hi everyone
I am new to this but I used to fallow immigration boards.
I have a doubt could anyone please clarify it as soon as possible
1. I am on tier1 entrepreneur visa and running software consultancy business it's not related to my background qualification
2. I have a background qualification of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences.
3. My actual doubt is if I find a sponsor related to my qualification can I switch to tier2 and can I go as an entry level as because I haven't got any experience related to my background qualification. If not how much pay scale should I show to switch to tier2.

Thank you very much
All your suggestions and comments will be highly appreciated.

This isn't a general discussion thread on Tier 2 applications. You've highjacked another member's thread which is not only unfair but is also confusing.
Please open you own topic and post your question there.
