Maternity leave on tier 2 general and impact on ILR

Post by balli » Tue Aug 01, 2017 10:14 pm

My wife is on tier 2 general visa. ILR is due on Nov 2019. She is pregnant and planning for maternity leave. She will be in UK all the time. She will be getting 20 weeks full pay and 19 week statutory pay.

1) How long maternity leave she can take without affecting her ILR?

2) 180 days rule is only about being out of country?

3) What should we be aware about reduced pay because of maternity leave and ILR rules about that?

Thanks in advance

1. 52 weeks.
2. yes the rule says u cant stay for more than 180 days in a year out of the country.
3. no problem with reduced pay or no pay(if she takes 52 weeks), the rules allow that.
